Friday night you'll finally be able to get your hands on the new Harry Potter book.
But Thursday WWAY NewsChannel 3's Stephanie Beecken had the chance to go inside Books-a-Million's stock room for a sneak peak.
Carolyn Keller has been waiting two years for this moment -- finally, she can buy a voucher for the seventh and final installment of the Harry Potter series: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."
Keller said, "My kids are pressuring me. I have four children aged from five to 15 and they just can't wait for the new Harry Potter book to come out."
Carolyn and her kids will be back at the store at midnight on Friday, for Books-a-Million's release party.
Books-a-Million manager William Oliver said, "It will be several hours of lots of customers, lots of parties, lots of activities and lots of anticipation for 12:01 a.m."
Until that time the books will be kept under wraps, on pallets.
"The pallets arrive shrink-wrapped and they are maintained that way at all times. We are constantly confirming that the security of the pallets have been maintained," Oliver said.
Despite all the security the secret may already be out. Online, wizards of a different sort, claim to have the book and are spoiling the end.
Keller said, "I would never peek at the ending. It's definitely got to be a surprise."
If you're planning on coming to Books-a-Million for the midnight release, make sure you've prepaid and have a voucher or you won't be able to get the book. Don't worry, the vouchers are going to be sold until 11 p.m. on Friday, and if you don't get a voucher or you don't come to the midnight release you can try to pick up the book Saturday morning at 9 a.m., but there's no guarantee that the book will still be in stock.
Many stores are offering a discount on the book when you prepay.
The Books-a-Million manager recommends getting to the store before nine p.m. to enjoy the activities.Full Story »
