RALEIGH, NC (AP) -- Gov. Bev Perdue is back in North Carolina after a week out of the country on a family vacation.
Perdue spokeswoman Chrissy Pearson confirmed Perdue was on the job Monday. Pearson says Perdue was in close contact with her office while she was away last week. Perdue scheduled an economic development announcement Monday afternoon in Raleigh.
Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton was acting governor during her trip. The state constitution puts the lieutenant governor in charge when the governor leaves the state.
Perdue has taken similar winter trips since taking office in early 2009. The governor's office doesn't announce where Perdue goes on vacation to protect the privacy for her family.
