MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - Myrtle Beach International Airport
says it has surpassed its previous traffic record by almost 30,000
The airport said in a news release Tuesday that 869,032
passengers arrived at the airport in 2010. The previous record of
839,450 inbound passengers was set in 2007.
Airport director Michael La Pier says the growth came at a time
when other airports were reporting steady or declining traffic and
shows that the Grand Strand remains a popular tourist destination.
La Pier has said the next goal for the airport is 1 million
