New Hanover Co. traditional high schools change exam schedule due to storm

READ MORE:

WILMINGTON, NC (NEWS RELEASE) - Due to the weather-related school closings this week, the four comprehensive high schools - Ashley, Hoggard, Laney and New Hanover - will adjust their End-of-Course exams schedule. The exams were originally scheduled to begin this week. However, because students have missed three days of school this week, the district has decided to reschedule the exams for next week.

The new testing schedule will begin on Tuesday, January 18, 2011. As a result, the first semester will be extended to January 26, 2011. The second semester will start on January 27, 2011. Report cards for high school students will go out February 4, 2011. Each high school will send out an Alert Now message to their students, parents and staff this evening with specific details about the testing schedule at each school.

The make-up days for the three missed days of school have not been determined yet. However, Superintendent Dr. Tim Markley has stated that he plans to bring a proposed schedule for making up the missed days to the February Board of Education meeting for the Board’s approval.
