ALE needs to step up and investigate this matter. If the patrons were from the Rhino, then pull their license at this point. Anyone can be stabbed downtown. Why were the police not watching their high tech camera system during this time, especially at this intersection where it appears fights occur nightly? They have cameras on the parking decks to monitor this area. The city has cut the police funding for downtown patrols. Why not bring in part time officers that work strictly on the weekends. They can build a relationship with the law abiding citizens and address the unruly crowds as well. The parking lot at the corner of Second and Market becomes a hang out area for the patrons from the Rox and the Rhino primarily as well as a couple of other establishments. Yes the owner of the clubs has a responsibility for their patrons after they leave after consuming alcohol in their establishments. This is one of the main purposes of the ALE. They need to confirm where the patrons were and address the responsible parties by fines, pulling their ABC licenses. Surfcity Tom you think this might fall under the "DRAM" Shop liability statue for North Carolina?
