FORT BRAGG, NC (AP) -- A Fort Bragg spokesman says a soldier was shot and wounded, and authorities are working to find the gunman.
Tom McCollum says that a 23-year-old soldier was shot in the arm around 3 a.m. Sunday at the edge of the Army post's grounds. The soldier, who was not identified, was treated at Womack Army Medical Center. His condition has not been released.
McCollum says the gunman is believed to be driving a silver Chevy Impala.
Meanwhile, authorities are checking all traffic coming out of the military post. An area near the shooting has been closed off so investigators can collect evidence, but McCollum says the rest of the post is operating normally.
