I just spent an hour and a half looking up info about zinc poisoning, and the resulting copper deficiency...the Fixodent box says "new labeling" in microscopic print it says it contains ZINC which some reports may link to problems. My husband RECENTLY got dentures and they are not "fitted" yet, because his gums are shrinking from the 22 teeth they pulled AT ONE TIME. Polygrip NO longer contains ZINC due to the number of lawsuits and because it is NOT necessary at all. My husband experienced nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness, and inablity to stand or drive. He has been using a lot of it, but like hair spray, no one thought anything of it...
They should NOT even put ZINC in the product, as it isn't necessary..and it HAS to be the Fixodent, as that is the ONLY thing new and different in ingesting and inhaling..no new work, no hew house, etc.
He doesn't have health insurance, so we cannot spend weeks in the ER and having thousands of dollars of testing done. We will discontinue the Fixodent and probably take some high copper vegetables, etc...to get his copper levels up..as use of zinc will decrease the copper in one's body..
