PINEHURST, N.C. (AP) -- Virginia Tech is the pre-season favorite to win the Atlantic Coast Conference championship.
In voting results released yesterday, the Hokies were the runaway choice to win the Coastal Division. They also earned 69 of 83 possible votes to win the league championship game.
The votes came from media members at the league's annual pre-season media days.
Georgia Tech was picked second in the Coastal Division, followed by Miami, Virginia, North Carolina and Duke.
Florida State was picked to win the Atlantic Division, followed by Boston College, Clemson, defending league champion Wake Forest, Maryland and North Carolina State.
The division winners meet in the third annual league title game in Jacksonville, Florida in December.
