I was one of Rory's crew members. It's obvious to me that NC Contractors had no intention of paying what it owes until this story came to light. A promise that they still have not yet made good on.
I stopped putting in hours on 4th street after i saw that crews of mexicans upwards of 20 head were getting checks cut on payday, while our 5 man American crew got nothing.
We were installing windows, but we were also fixing deficient framing on their part in order for the structures to pass inspections. They paid the mexican framers to do a job and would not pay us to fix what they did not do correctly or structual requirements left out enirely.
NC contractors should be ashamed of the way it has treated its workers. They should be investigated locally and possibly federally. We should get the money that is owed to us along with interest from the last 4 months, going on 5.
