WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- If you're a baseball fanatic, you've probably dreamed about going to each and every one of your team's games. Well two local comics are about to begin a six-month journey that will attempt to do just that.

Spring is in the air, and that means baseball. The New York Yankees are in the midst of Spring Training. While Jeter, A-Rod, and Posada are working out in Tampa, two other pieces of this year's campaign are getting ready right here in Wilmington.

Meet Steve Melia and Steve Marcinowski. No, they're not athletes, they're comedians. They typically spend their time at the Nutt Street Comedy Room making people laugh, but they're about to take a six-month hiatus as they hit the road on a quest to attend all 162 Yankee games.

"For about three years I've wanted to go to every (Yankee) game, and I kept talking about '162,' and that it'd be a great idea for a reality show," Melia said.

This makes perfect sense for this Melia, being a Yankee fan and all, but the other Steve is not a Yankee fan at all.

"I was born and raised in Boston, MA, so this is going to be interesting for me," Marcinowski said. "When it's safe, I think I'm going to try and wear some boston gear. Because I'm not a really good fighter."

Allegiances aside, the two won't be spending all their time in the parks. They'll also be performing on stage across the country trying to book as many shows as they can.

"That's what I'm really excited about is just hitting as many stages as we can," Marcinowski said. "Especially in New York, we're going to be up there for a long time. It's such a big place for comedy -- and baseball."

Melia said, "Sometimes I think you're really creative when you're tired and exhausted, and I know we're absolutely going to be tired and exhausted. We're already looking forward to the All-Star Break."

The duo doesn't exactly have the logistics down pat just yet. With dozens of flights to book and tickets to buy, there's a lot of planning left to be done, but they're just looking forward to the endless baseball and laughs to be had along the way.

While on the road, the two Steves will produce a documentary of their experiences to share with everyone on a live blog. We'll check in with them throughout the season to see their progress, so stay tuned for more updates.
