The county should have let Waste Management buy it when they had the chance, instead they gave the bid to R3 which ended up in the landfill with the other trash. Waste Industries was going to shut it down & truck the trash to Sampson county. Waste Management is a worldwide Fortune 500 corporation that was willing to purchase Wastec, put the money into it that was needed & getting it back to working At 98% capacity. They not only have the money but the resources as well. Now 38 people have been laid off & the landfill might last 10 years instead of 50!! What in the world is the county thinking?!?!
