WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The Queen has arrived, and could not be happier to represent the 64th Annual North Carolina Azalea Festival.
Heather French Henry arrived right on time this morning and pretty in pink for her official portrait. She took pictures with everyone, including her escorts from the the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office and the Wilmington Police Department.
She was also honored today as the second queen ever to quite literally leave her mark on the festival.
"I just found out I'm gonna have my hands in the cement only for the second time in the Azalea Festival history, so I'm super excited," the former Miss America said. "I don't think I've ever had my hands placed in cement before, so this is sort of like my Hollywood Walk of Fame, I guess."
She had fun putting her hands in the cement this morning. Fortunately she had plenty of time between that and the coronation to wash her hands and get ready for the rest of the Azalea Festival festivities this weekend.
