Wind grounds air show for Saturday

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- With a line of strong storms approaching our area and a tornado watch up until 9 p.m., the Coastal Carolina Air Show has canceled Saturday's activities.

In a news release, the air show said that because of severe crosswinds up to 40 mph, which restricts aircraft of air show types from flying, the show has been canceled today.

Flying will resume tomorrow, when the forecast calls for sunshine and a beautiful day for flying.

Gates open at 8 a.m. at Wilmington International Airport.
