South Brunswick students use green thumbs to make green at plant sale

READ MORE:

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- April showers bring May flowers, and students at South Brunswick High School are hoping to make a profit off what they've grown.

Students in the horticulture class have been working all semester to grow plants to sell to the community. Their hard work seems to have paid off. They say people have been stopping by their plant sale at the school to get great plants for Mother's Day at a low price.

"We've had a lot," freshman Mason Berne said. "We've sold about $2,000 worth of flowers in two days. We hope a lot more people come out."

The sale of flowers, vegetables, trees and other plants continues tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at South Brunswick High School.

All the money will go toward supplies and field trips for the horticulture students.
