"Democratic Rep. Mickey Michaux of Durham said shortening the time was designed to decrease turnout among Democrats and black voters."

The chant that I heard while working as a long time Pollster during the last election was centered at Democrats as they were leaving Cape Fear Museum "don't forget, do like our brothers in Chicago do, VOTE EARLY, VOTE OFTEN!"

Sadly, the Democrats running for office overheard this repetitive and influential diatribe and DID NOTHING to discourage their pollsters.
