I'm sorry - I just have to say something. These workers are not lazy as far as I can tell. With all the garbage, recycling, yard trash and dead animals these guys see in a day I think they are doing a great job. Wonder how many of these boom trucks the city has. With all the cuts in budget they probably only have one. I know that they have waited for me once or twice while I ran out in my bathrobe with my recycling, and they are working no matter what the weather is. Plus I think sanitation worker jobs can be just as dangerous as policemen or firemen - I remember hearing awhile back about a worker who lost both legs because a driver wasn't paying attention.
