Daniel Cropper tossed his third complete game and his first shutout of the season as UNCW blanked Old Dominion, 7-0, on Thursday in the second game of the Colonial Athletic Association baseball tournament at Brooks Field.

The Seahawks (31-26) will face off against regular season champion James Madison on Friday at 3:30 p.m. The Monarchs (28-25), meanwhile, take on Georgia State in an elimination game at noon.

Cropper (8-3) scattered four hits and a walk in going the distance for UNCW. For the righthander, it was his second straight complete, shutout effort in the CAA tournament after shutting out VCU in 2010. Cropper retired the first eight hitters he faced and later retired 10 straight from the third to the seventh inning. He finished with four strikeouts and induced 18 fly ball outs.

The Seahawks plated a run in the first inning off losing pitcher Kyle Hald (8-3) on a sacrifice fly by Andrew Cain that scored Matt Campbell, who doubled two batters earlier. Campbell (3-for-4) finished as triple short of hitting for the cycle.

Campbell, who tied his season-high with four runs scored, added to the lead with his sixth homer of the season in the third inning. UNCW would put the game out of reach with a run in the fourth and three more in the fifth. Hunter Ridge's two-run homer keyed the fifth inning for UNCW.

Hald, the Co-Pitcher-of-the-Year, allowed six runs, four earned, on five hits and four walks. He finished with six strikeouts.

Georgia State and ODU return to the field for a noon start on Friday.
