WILMINGTON,NC (WWAY) -- The Wilmington Sharks have announced that tonight, Thursday, June 2, 2011, they will be handing out ASG Security Magnet Schedules to every fan coming through the gates of tonight’s doubleheader against the Morehead City Marlins. The ASG Security Magnet Schedules were originally set to be given away during Tuesday’s 2011 opening night, but had to be put on hold due to a delay in shipping. Thursday night’s doubleheader will also be the first Fat Tony’s Thirsty Thursday of the season, as well as WWAY ABC News Channel 3’s Shirt off our Back Night, where 30 lucky fans will receive the Sharks’ game-worn jerseys following the game at Buck Hardee Field in Wilmington. The first game of the doubleheader is set to begin at 6:05 p.m., with gates opening at 5 p.m., and the second game to follow. The Wilmington Sharks are members of Coastal Plain League, the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 15th season, The Coastal Plain League features 15 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer. The CPL has had over 700 alumni drafted and 35 alums make their Major League debut thus far.
