WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The Wilmington police department arrested two men involved in breaking and entering incidents. Early Thursday, Wilmington police officers heard an alarm at a business on 16th street and arrested William Wayne Staton, who claimed that he had been nearby when another man, named "John," broke out the window of the business.
An officer arrived at Picasso Pawn in response to an alarm there and detained a man carrying a pellet gun. John Thomas Barnette was arrested. Officers then realized that he was the second suspect from the earlier incident on South 16th street. Barnette was charged with a second count of attempted breaking and entering from the first case.
