I was there. Barfield compared Redenbaugh to Jesus Christ for her "courageous" stand. She got up there and martyred herself right there at the podium; and talked about how her "courage" was inspired by a sermon on the book of Genesis. These progressives and their God-complexes is really annoying; as is their social gospel, which they position as the moral authority for everyone - except themselves.
Tell me what's so courageous about hypocrisy? Redenbaugh benefits personally from the neighborhood schools setup. Her children attend Parsley, which is the nearest school to her home. If schools were designated by the way she claims they should, her children would be shipped downtown to balance socioeconomics.
This has become the battle-cry of the progressives - "do as I say, not as I do".
