BEAUFORT, NC (AP) -- Bells, cannon and lead shot are among the items that will be on display when the North Carolina Maritime Museum opens the largest exhibit to date of artifacts from the wreck presumed to be the remains of Blackbeard's flagship.

The museum's nautical archaeologist warns that no treasure will be on display at the exhibit in Beaufort. David Moore says that's because the Queen Anne's Revenge didn't wreck, but ran aground, giving the crew time to remove most of the valuables.

The exhibit opens Saturday and will display about 300 items from the shipwreck that's off the North Carolina coast.

The first large anchor recovered from the shipwreck a couple of weeks ago won't be displayed either. It will spend about five years in conservation before it's on public view.
