WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The driver who hit New Hanover County Commissioner Brian Berger last week because he pulled out too far at a stop sign, still can't get a resolution from his insurance company.
Angela Lilly says she talked to GEICO earlier this week. Berger had insurance through GEICO on his BMW, but says he didn't get it transferred to a Jeep he bought before the wreck.
Lilly says at first GEICO told her Berger wasn't covered. When she pressed them harder, they agreed to give her a rental car in the meantime. The damage estimate to her Saturn last week was approximately $3,000, but now she says GEICO can't decide whether to total out the car or not. She also says the company still won't say if it will ultimately pay to fix her car.
