Location: 3rd and Campbell Streets
Offense: Armed robbery/assault with intent to kill inflicting serious bodily injury

The male victim, age 42, reported that he was walking south on Third Street when two men ran past him. According to the victim, he thought the two would run past him, but they turned and pointed handguns at him. They demanded everything he had, and the victim turned over his wallet with cash. According to the victim, the assailants began to run away toward Fourth Street, but then turned around and shot him in the jaw. The robbers were both described as young black males, about 5’5” tall. One reportedly was wearing a white t-shirt and a white bandanna; no further details are available. The victim was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment. His injury was not life-threatening, but he was unable to speak, so he wrote out an account of what had happened. The case is under investigation.
