Covering up is the perception, but employers are required under HIPAA laws to protect the identities of their employees in the case of medical information like this. And with everything being said about foreign exchange students, if anyone felt it ok to talk about anyone because of their nationality, then employees should know that discrimination is not acceptable on any case for any reason. "Threatening" repercussions is completely within laws of protecting all workers from discrimination.
