When I was a young girl, I used to stand on Crystal Pier (now the Oceanic) and watch the sharks swim in and out of all the swimmers. It gives you a great viewpoint from up there. That's what sharks do; they swim in, out, and around people. They're looking for food, yes, but not necessarily the human kind. They're attracted to the fish being caught near the piers, and humans happen to be swimming in the same vicinity.
