Why would anyone want to be in a room with Pantano to confront him? I am not trying to convey any sort of disrespect to any veteran of a foreign war, or military service men and women alike. I'm not bent to through caution at the wind for the fine service they provided us, however, as a human I know we are all different.
Timothy McVeigh was a serviceman as well; however, what he did didn't bring shame to all the military - it brought shame to all the country for killing innocent victims. I understand that Mr. Pantano was found not-guilty, however, I know that this was also decided by his own peers, who are, without perfection and capable of human fault. Therefore, in a town of over a hundred-thousand I feel there are many other probable and deserving candidates than someone with such a storied past; Republican, Democrat OR Independent. It doesn't matter - there is to much controversy to make this man into a public servant that would be unbiased to his duties.
