WILMINGTON,NC (WWAY) -- Connor Barth's job with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is fairly simple, kick the football when called upon. Just like all the other NFL players Barth hasn't received the call to come to training camp though due to the current NFL lockout. For the call to come a deal has to be reached between the NFL owners and players. "I was watching on tv and I saw the power play move that the owners tried to put on us," Barth said. "That didn't sit well with a lot of the players. I thought things were ready to go, but here we are kinda in a stalemate."

In his rookie season Jay Ross won a Super Bowl ring with Green Bay. On Friday afternoon he shared information with WWAY about an email he received from Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay team rep. "I got an email from Aaron Rodgers explaining everything on last night's conference call," Ross said. "He said the owners were trying to put different clauses in that weren't discussed, but the players aren't going for it. It may be a few more days until we get something finished."

If a deal is not reached soon fans are going to lose patience, but they're not the only ones. "As long as this keeps going the lockout is cutting into rookie's time for making the team," Jay Ross said. "It's cutting into guys like myself for playing pre-season games. It's hurting a lot of people."
