JACKSONVILLE, NC (AP) -- Military and civilian personnel at Camp Lejeune are being reminded that they should jog with their shirts on and without iPods while jogging on the base.
The Daily News of Jacksonville reports that commanding officer Col. Daniel Lecce published a policy letter June 22 tightening dress standards for personnel working out on base or inside facilities maintained by Marine Corps Community Services.
Leece says personnel must wear shirts while training on base, with the exception of those working out at the beach or training in a base pool. The letter says women may wear tank tops, sleeveless shirts, and jog bras to train outdoors.
Base spokeswoman 1st Lt. Nicole Fiedler says penalties for policy violations could range from a verbal reprimand to other forms of administrative or non-judicial punishment.
