WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A new grocery store in Wilmington that promises good 'ole down-home food is officially opening on Thursday. The farm fresh market, Carolina Farmin' is located at 2101 Market Street.
The majority of the produce and baked goods are grown or made in this area. Owner Wayne Long says the vision behind the new store was to provide a community market and grocery store in the downtown area
“We are not a Harris Teeter,” said Long. “We are not a Food Lion. Most of the stuff that we're going to be selling is stuff that was produced locally as well bought yesterday. The corn slept under the stars last night.”
The ribbon cutting will be this Thursday at 9 a.m. There will also be several fun events for the family and specials all weekend including half off ice cream and gelato on Sunday.
