we are a couple in our 70's and we join two other couples our age several times a year for what we call our southport days.
after a nice lunch the ladies go shopping and we follow but we usually remain outside on the benches to give the girls more time to shop.
I hate to think that this old fellow on oxygen will be required to stand outside in the hot sun so something 4 feet wide can saftly pass me ,in all my trips to southport i must say i have never seen anything on the sidewalk that couldn't pass me . if the town takes stands on issues that anger tourists and local customers you won't have to worry, before long you local politicians will be able to bowl safetly in the streest let alone the sidewalks and while doing so try to figure out where to get the lost tax dollars from the former tourists.
