Football games rescheduled because of Irene


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The forecast path of Hurricane Irene is already making an impact on southeastern North Carolina, specifically on the gridiron.

In fact WWAY will have all of this week's high school football coverage on Thursday night instead of Friday. Essentially we'll be moving the 5th Quarter this week to Thursday because the following varsity games will now be played on Thursday:

Mattamuskeet at Dixon 6:00 p.m.
Trask at North Brunswick 7:00 p.m.
Pender at Topsail 7:00 p.m.
Wallace Rose-Hill at Clinton 7:00 p.m.
Hoggard at 71st 7:00 p.m.
Hobbton at Fairmont 7:00 p.m.
Jacksonville at SW Onslow 7:00 p.m.
East Columbus at East Bladen 7:30 p.m.
Whiteville at West Columbus 7:30 p.m.
West Bladen at South Robeson 7:30 p.m.
Scotland County at New Hanover 7:30 p.m.
Laney at Union 7:30 p.m.
West Brunswick at Socastee 7:30 p.m.
Ashley at South Brunswick 7:30 p.m.
