DURHAM, NC (AP) -- The Texas man charged with killing a Pennsylvania high school football player and injuring another in a parking lot in North Carolina faces nine additional charges. The News & Observer of Raleigh reported Tuesday that 22-year-old Gabriel James Gamez of San Antonio was indicted this month on additional charges. Gamez was charged in June with first-degree murder in the death of 18-year-old Darrell Turner and was charged with assault after a teammate from Gateway High School in Monroeville, PA, was shot in the leg. The new charges include attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill four Pennsylvania teens with Turner. They had stopped for the night on their way to a football camp in Florida. Police say Gamez was in Durham for a funeral. (Copyright 2011 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
