Landfall welcomes back tennis legends

WILMINGTON,NC (news release) -- Tickets are available for the 2011 BB&T Legends of Tennis, presented by Williams Mullen, September 16-18 at the Country Club of Landfall. Former World Number One Ranked player Tracy Austin will be headlining the impressive lineup of players for a three day tennis event benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Eastern North Carolina and the UNCW Seahawks Club.

General admission tickets will be available through the College Road and Landfall Center BB&T Branches starting September 6 through September 15. During the event weekend, general admission tickets will be available at Landfall Realty located at 1720 Drysdale Drive. All general admission tickets are $10 and include a one day pass. Marquis tables and half tables are still available for purchase and include seating for all three days of the event and tickets to a player party Saturday evening which include dinner and dancing at the Nicklaus Clubhouse. A marquis table for four cost $480 and a half table is $240.

The three day event includes Legends singles, doubles and mixed doubles matches along with local professional exhibitions. In addition to tennis great Tracy Austin and Country Club of Landfall’s Director of Tennis Charlie Owens, crowd-favorite Luke Jensen will be featured, as will Mikael Pernfors, Jimmy Arias, Sandy Mayer and Bret Garnett. Tennis play will take place on Friday, September 16 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 17 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 18 from 12:30-3:30 p.m.

The weekend will also include a silent auction, a raffle, and a limited number of opportunities for amateurs to Play with the Pros.
