Here's an idea.....
When the public figure is offended by the manner of the potential interviewer, they should volunteer the information being requested to a competitor.
This way, they do not have to endure any unduly harsh or ungracious questioning. Their duty to the public is met and also, they have bolstered the competition's position, thus diminishing the position of the offensive questioner.
