I suspect the Mayor got word that other civil lawsuits are coming down against the town and its police department. I can't imagine the town attorney wanting him to comment when there are other issues.

The mayor has been so busy with Hurricane Irene, I am sure he failed to communicate with his Town Manager and his Chief of Police regarding other issues involving that Good Ole Leland Police Department.
