It's definitely interesting to me that both the mother and the grandfather are being charged here. There is a LOT more to this story than has been released so far. It was previously reported that EMS arrived on the scene and found the baby face down still on the floor, and furthermore that the baby was still alive but died of her injuries later at the hospital. It's disturbing enough that the mother left her child in such a position to begin with. Now I'm wonder exactly how long the baby laid there before EMS was even called. IF the family waffled on calling EMS for an extended period and IF the injuries would have been survivable if they had acted more timely, then the charges seem appropriate. But that is pure speculation and I would caution anyone from making snap judgements against the family or the prosecution… we just don't have access to all the facts.
