Brett Blizzard scores 15 in Italian season debut


BOLOGNA, ITALY (WWAY) -- Former UNC Wilmington basketball standout Brett Blizzard is back in Italy playing pro basketball for Fortitudo Biancoblu Basket Bologna (Conad Bologna).

On Sunday Blizzard's team won their official regular season opener 96-83 over Tezenis Verona. The WWAY Full Court Press co-host started the game as expected. He scored 15 points in his team's 13 point victory. Blizzard was 3-7 from behind the arc. He was 3-4 inside the three point line. UNCW's all-time leading scorer played 22 minutes in the season opener. We've posted the box score below.

The next game for Brett Blizzard's team will be October 9th against Prima Veroli. It'll be a matchup of two undefeated teams.
