In moving here in 2008, I wanted a copy, so that I could read it during lunch or when taking a break to see what was different form the laws in the State from where I moved. I walked into the DMV on Carolina Beach Road and was told that they didn't have copies and was given a slip of paper with a phone number to call. I'm one of the few that prefers to read physical copies and highlight anything I feel is important.
My question is that if they charge $5 for a copy of the book, will the cost of a license be lowered? If they charge $5 and distribute 4,000+ copies, they are making $20,000+ per month which is close to a quarter of a million dollars a year. Assuming the actual cost on one of those books could be made for less than a buck, they are still generating close to $144,000 in added revenue. I sure hope the roads see some type of betterment if there is no fee adjustment.
This has been going on for years...
