First of all, a lot of restaurants serve LARGE SIZE everything.
Instead of serving a 4 oz. burger, they usually have half a pound or more (sometimes double or tripe patty). The restaurants all use the "fatty" ground beef, not the lean (93% lean) one.
They will serve it on white bread, instead of 100% whole wheat, and then they might add a special sauce that has a lot of extra "empty" calories. Then most people want a LARGE fry, and a LARGE non-diet drink. Some also want a desert like an apple pie or an ice cream; or instead of the drink, they have a LARGE chocolate milk shake.
This simple hamburger meal is suddenly turned into a high calorie nightmare. Fast food may be "fast", but it's NOT healthy...if you don't make wise choices.
