WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- If you're looking for ways to save a little money this Halloween and don't want to wear last year's costume, try swapping it for a new one.
The Tidal Creek Co-op in Wilmington is having a costume swap tomorrow evening. The goal is to reduce, re-use and recycle those old goblin and ghoul costumes from Halloweens past.
"It's a way to save money and cut down on waste," event organizer Bethany Rogers said. "They end up in the landfill if they're thrown away, so it's more pollution. We're cutting down on cost, we're cutting down on waste and it is a way to build community, too."
Tidal creek has been collecting costumes, getting ready for tomorrow night. The swap runs from 5-7 p.m. at the Tidal Creek Community Center above the store off Oleander Drive.
