Civil War life on display at downtown library

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Some historic pieces from the Civil War collected from all over the state have made their way to the Port City.

A traveling Civil War exhibit is currently on display at the New Hanover County Library in downtown Wilmington. The exhibit features images of women, soldiers and freed men. It's a rare look at what life was like during that time.

"Right now they've pulled together 50 images related to the American Civil War, to emancipation, to the reenactments that happen at the historic sites and put them all together in this big exhibit," librarian Dorothy Hodder said.

The exhibit will be at the library downtown until October 29.
