Atrocities

Well, let's see what Sherman did for you to admire him so.

Sherman once wrote to his wife that his purpose was the extermination, not of soldiers alone, but of the people of the South. Sherman often ordered his soldiers, many who were street criminals from Northern as well as European cities, to shoot civilians at random. He ordered his men to burn entire towns in Tennessee, Mississippi and, of course, Georgia. And the thousands of letters and diaries that survived the war prove the rape of both black and white women by Sherman's men.

Real nice fella, huh? I can see why you admire him so. If he tried this today, he would be sitting in a courtroom defending himself against war crimes.
