i remember the good old days before cell phones and text messaging. the school nor my parents knew the bus driver was speeding up and down the street silly and committing traffic infractions left and right. we were dropped off at a central location near no one's house and would proceed to have a rock fight before walking home alone taking a shortcut through a yard of some ornery property owner. managed to make it home, do the right thing, and not light the house on fire while my parents were at work for another 2 hours. we're all grown up now and we turned out ok.
today, irate parents are boarding buses for who knows what reason and surely embarrassing their kid. others are demanding to know why a bus made a u-turn. man, times have changed...changed so much that now i'm the ornery property owner. darn!
