Choosing to run a red light is a choice, not an accident.
Choosing to drive drunk is a choice, not an accident.
Choosing to text while driving is a choice, not an accident.
Choosing to have the phone in one hand, cigarette in the other and the knee on the wheel is a choice, not an accident.
Choosing to go solve a matter with someone with gun in hand is a choice, not an accident.
I could go on, but I think you get the point. If the judicial system would put the belt to the people making dangerous choices (notice I did not say bad, we all make bad mistakes), instead of a good talking to, we might see a difference.
Maybe they should start making these people who choose to cause death by their choice, dig the grave with a $15 shovel for the lost loved one. That should give the person a good while to think about why he/she is digging the grave.
