You are absolutely correct that any rating lower than a 5 only affects commercial properties and that a home whether it is a 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 will pay the same for the fire portion of the homeowners insurance. You stated the difference in a 6 and a 7 for your insurance, since you work in the insurance field, what would your difference have been from a 6 to a 10, that is what alot of residents would have been paying if this and the other station whad not been built and the fire trucks purchased to fix the issue the town created. Kuddos to you for setting the record straight concerning the class 6 rating!
