Disabled man killed in Robeson County home

READ MORE:

PEMBROKE, NC (AP) -- Robeson County authorities say a disabled man has been shot to death at his home in Pembroke.

Sheriff's Maj. Howard Branch says investigators are treating the death of 32-year-old Carlos Oxendine as a homicide.

Branch says Oxendine was confined to a wheelchair. His caretaker found him dead in his bed about 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Branch says the caretaker told investigators he had left the home about three hours earlier to go to the store.

No arrests have been reported.

The State Bureau of Investigation has been asked to assist in the investigation.
