The reason Trask won was simple they had a more balanced offense. If you live by the run and run only. You die by it as well. The defense for the Bears held Roland Grise 3 and out at least 6 times. Trask went 3 and out twice. Penalties were about even. Turn overs killed RG. The biggest play RG had was a kick return that went 67yds, and was capped off by a 8yd td run.
I have coached highschool here for a long time. I will tell you this. I have watched the last 14yrs of ms football in this area. This past wednesday night was the best Game I have seen in this area since Hanover vs Southview. In which Hanover got shafted!
Trask and Roland Grise were the most athletic, physical,aggressive teams I have seen here since the JR Highschool times. Trask just had a little more in the tank than RG that night.
Either way the local highschools were very impressed with what we witnessed this past Wednesday. Great job to both teams and coaching staffs. But kudos to Trask Middle School 2011 New Hanover County Champs! You guys earned it.
