Deputies find pot growing operation in Winnabow

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- A Winnabow man faces several drug charges after deputies found dozens of marijuana plants at his home.

The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office say they responded to a domestic disturbance call around 3:40 p.m. yesterday at 138 Bell Swamp Road. Deputies say when they got to the house they smelled a strong odor of marijuana inside. When questioned, Ronald Thomas Sessions turned over some marijuana.

After getting a search warrant, the Drug Enforcement Unit found a marijuana grow operation in a shed behind the house, including about 42 marijuana plants. They also found pills, including Methadone, Alprazolam and Adderall inside the house.

Sessions is in the Brunswick County Detention Center under a $250,000 secure bond.
