ASHEVILLE, NC (AP) -- A five-mile stretch of the Blue Ridge Parkway near Hendersonville will close for repair of a bridge over Interstate 26. The National Park Service says the stretch will close Nov. 1. The work is expected to be completed by Dec. 5. The road is being closed between milepost 388.3 at US 25 and milepost 393.6 at NC 191. The Park Service says an 11-mile detour is required. Officials are working on the south approach of the bridge over I-26. (Copyright 2011 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
