WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- It's that time of year again, when rides, animals and funnel cakes all come together at the "Fairport" in Wilmington. The Cape Fear Fair & Expo starts tomorrow afternoon at Wilmington International Airport.
Organizers say it will will be bigger and better than ever before.
The star attraction of this year's fair will be the Kenya Safari acrobats that will feature fire ring jumping, a limbo act using a crossbar of fire and other feats of strength.
"Every year we strive to make the fair a little bit bigger and a little bit better in some way," fair manager Skip Watkins said. "We've got 40 rides out of the midway. Sorry I can't recall all of them, but as many people know the rides leave Raleigh, the North Carolina State Fair, and come down here, so we're pretty excited about that."
Also new this year is a $5 Walk Around Ticket on most days that lets visitors who don't want to ride the rides still enjoy everything else the fair has to offer.
The Cape Fear Fair & Expo runs through November 5. Click here for more information.
